Why I love the Flynn Deal, Manning makes perfect sense in Denver

First lets start off with Manning. Regardless of what people say I believe that Denver made the most sense, and always made the most sense. Tebow was fun, and I still think he can be an every down quarterback in the NFL, but Elway wanted Tebow out of town. At the end of the day feel good stories are awesome, but I believe most true Denver fans would trade Tebow for Manning in a heartbeat.

The Broncos are well under the cap, they can spend money on some extra receivers and maybe some help on the defense. They won the division last year at 8-8 with a quarterback that had less than a 50% completion percentage. Two other teams in that division have new head coaches… so count them out for a few seasons. The Broncos are built to win right now, and with Manning they’re built for Superbowls.

Fox is a defensive oriented head coach, which means Manning will get to do whatever he wants on the offense (Elway agrees). The only reason Peyton needs an offensive coordinator is to track is stats and cut up his film. Don’t let the lazy face and southern draw fool you, whatever room Manning walks into he is the smartest offensive mind in there. Just give the offense to Manning and let him do his thing, which is exactly what Elway and Fox will do.

Manning stays in the AFC. Meaning he won’t have to learn new NFC defenses, most he sees he will be accustomed too. All the better for the Broncos. If they can keep him protected, Manning will be in his prime for a few more years. Also, every sibling out there understands sibling rivalry. Do you think the fact that little Eli just won another Superbowl MVP makes that fire burn more intense inside Peyton? Umm…. Hell yes. The Broncos might not be the odds on favorite to win the Superbowl, but Manning gets them way closer than Tebow would have.

I Love the Matt Flynn Deal.

First off, if Matt Flynn plays half as good as is girlfriend looks, Seattle is looking at a pro bowl season from the new QB. Yah, off the football field Flynn has better game than Tom Brady (move over Gisele). Girlfriend aside, the hawks have been looking for the guy behind center for years and I believe they finally have him. I distinctly remember watching Flynn almost take down Brady and the Pats two years ago thinking to myself that this kid is going to be a player someday…hoping it would eventually be for the seahawks.

Thanks to Kevin Kolb’s stellar performance last year Seattle got Flynn at a great price. Had kolb put up decent to respectable numbers last season I am willing to bet the price for Flynn would have doubled. Flynn has been playing behind Aaron Rodgers who currently is the best quarterback in the game. Imagine if even the average Joe-schmo investment adviser could study full time with Warren Buffet for three years. Get my point? Flynn knows exactly what it takes during the offseason, game week, and game day in order to get W’s.

Best of all Seattle doesn’t need Flynn to be Tom Brady, Drew Brees, or Peyton Manning. We just need him to be a little better than Tavaris Jackson. We’re a run first team with a beast at runningback and a defense that is constantly foaming at the mouth. The attitude has changed in Seattle. Just last week standout cornerback Richard Sherman sent out a sweet where he dared Manning to come to San Fran, guaranteeing him at least 2 bad days a year. This is the kind of attitude this team has now… bring it on. I firmly believe 7-9 last season could have easily been 9-7 or 10-6. By adding a quality quarterback with a history of winning ( oh yah he won a national championship in college??) this team is ready to make the next step. Can’t wait for this season, Go Hawks Baby.
